Recent paintings are currently presented at Galerie DO/OKA, Husova 4, Prague.

Displayed directly behind the gallery’s street windows, the works are encountered in dialogue with the movement, reflections and changing light of the city.

The street becomes part of the exhibition.

The paintings change with the conditions in which they are seen — from the passing daylight to artificial reflections, from a distant glance to the closer observation of their surfaces.

This encounter between painting and the city reflects an essential aspect of Alasseur’s current practice: a painting is never completely fixed. Its perception changes with light, distance and the presence of the viewer.
